Mission
The mission of the Lopez-Riggins Library Media Center is to foster lifelong learners by introducing and providing access to print and digital 21st Century resources for all students, staff, and parents. 

Vision

The vision of the Lopez-Riggins Elementary Media Center is to provide support to staff, students, and parents to develop students who are skilled in information literacy, technology, and developmentally appropriate reading skills.  The media center will serve as an informational hub utilized by staff and students to facilitate learning.

Goal

The goal of the Lopez-Riggins Elementary Media Center is to promote literacy and develop independent library patrons who become life long learners with an inherent love of reading.

Objectives

  • Provide opportunities for students to browse, explore, and use the resources in the media center.
  • Students will read for recreation as well as for learning at appropriate reading levels.
  • Provide teachers with opportunities to browse, explore, and use the resources in the media center to create relevant and rigorous lessons.
 
 
 
Students grades K - 2 are allowed to check out 1 book for a one week period.
 
Students grades 3rd - 5th are allowed to check out two books for a one week period. 


Students may exchange their books as soon as they have finished using them.  

Students may not check out books or materials if they have overdue books. 

NO fines are charged on overdue items. 

Overdue Lists will be given to teachers regularly.  (These lists are meant to remind students to return or renew their books.)

Students with lost or damaged materials must pay for the items before they are allowed to checkout any other library material.
